We thank you for visiting the Official website of The Babe and George Zaharias Golf Foundation, Inc. (Zaharias Golf Foundation).  The Zaharias Golf Foundation is a Non-profit 501-(C)-3 organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the Forgotten children!  Our mission is to teach, Free of charge, the game of golf to the physical or mentally disabled and disenfranchised children in the State of Florida.  In addition we will also be introducing a new challenging program, for older teenagers, in the field of Agronomy.

The Zaharias Golf Foundation is very honored to announce its alliance with The Florida Baptist Children's Homes.  This is another opportunity for us to reach a forgotten segment of needy children.  The Y.M.C.A. and The First Tee of Lakeland, FL. has graciously offered its facility to benefit and support this exciting new chapter in these children's lives.

The Zaharias Golf Foundation is reaching out with its professional golf staff and volunteers to bring joy and self achievement to these youngsters by teaching them the game of golf, thus opening their eyes and minds to a future they never envisioned or dreamed possible.  To assist in our program we have, along with our staff, volunteers from various fields of the public and private sector.

All students are provided with appropriate equipment to begin their learning process.  Most of our curriculums start (According to the student's ability) by applying SNAG Golf (Starting New Approach To Golf), which has been proven to be highly successful.  SNAG (Developed by former P.G.A. tour players Terry Anton and Wally Armstrong) incorporates all of the basics (Grip, Alignment, Posture and Stance).  After this is accomplished, the student progresses into learning the Swing fundamentals, Rules of golf etiquette, history of the game, proper safety, while swinging a golf club.

The ultimate goal for The Zaharias Golf Foundation is to encourage the "Forgotten Youth" and making them realize they can do the impossible! As well as being able to Tee-it up and play this lifetime game of golf on a regular conventional golf course with friends, relatives and their peers!
